Welcome

The ‘Tour de Furness’ charity cycle event is organised by the Rotary Club of Furness to raise money for the St Mary’s Hospice and other local charities. The idea of the event is to get cyclists of all abilities joining in to have fun and raise money for local charity.

We have a choice of three routes, from 5 to 50 miles to test your physical fitness, but remember, ‘this is not a race!’

The 5 mile route is the ideal choice for novices and families with small children who would like to take part in the Tour De Furness. The route sets off from Roose Conservative Club, but quickly takes the riders off the public highways, past the waterworks treatment facility and onto the Greenway towards Rampside. Near the Concle Inn at Rampside there will be a reception and refreshments for children, before they turn around and make the journey back to Roose Conservative Club.

Directions

  1. Turn left out of Roose Conservative Club, then left again at the roundabout onto the A5087 to Rampside.
  2. Carry on for 500 yards, and turn right towards the United Utilities water treatment works
  3. At the treatment works, turn left along the cycle path to Rampside.
  4. At Rampside, close to the Concle Inn, there will be a reception and refreshments for the children.
  5. Following a short rest, return to the Roose Conservative Club by the same route.
